I’d like to have a digital way of recording how many students use a workshop and for what purpose ie how long they spend in the space and doing what?
Hmm, we think this could currently only work by you asking students these kind of questions and keeping a record in an excel spreadsheet, or by creating an office 365 form and asking students to fill it in. In the future classrooms may deploy the Internet of Things – sensing devices and data collection methods to enable an automatic gathering of this kind of information. This is still pilot technology….watch this space…
How do I get the one drive to sync my office computer files to my laptop? It is set up but the files don’t update. Thank you.
Use and sign in with the Web version of Office 365 here: https://outlook.office.com/owa/arts.ac.uk
You shouldn’t need to sync, hope this helps!
There are two possible solutions to this question, try opening the old video file in Quicktime and then exporting it in a newer format, if that doesn’t work try the Handbrake file converting software.

UAL Technology Enhanced Learning Coordinators talking to students about digital technology at the LCC Digital Fluency event on May 11th 2017.
A student asked us ‘What software is there for helping me check that the translation I get from Google translate is correct and in the right context?’
This is a tough one, if software could check itself then there wouldn’t be errors…but you can find tools online which claim to check grammar, for example:
http://www.reverso.net/spell-checker/english-spelling-grammar/
But it’s always best to read it out-loud to yourself and see if it sounds right, you can also find out about language support classes and online resources through UAL Academic Support, look for the link at the top of Moodle.
It looks like this is only possible as a Prezi premium feature, see the video here:
https://prezi.com/support/article/sharing/saving-a-prezi-as-a-pdf/
But if anyone knows how to do this without having a premium Prezi account please leave a comment here!
The usual way to share Prezi is by sending people a link to it online, if you need a print-out you are better off using PowerPoint.
To find out the file size and dimensions of an image that is stored on your computer:
Microsoft Windows users can see the dimensions of a video file by viewing the file summary. To do this follow the steps below.
If the above recommendation does not display the required information view the video properties through Windows Media Player. This only works if the video file is capable of being played in Windows Media Player.
To view the dimensions of video files such as .mov files that play through Apple QuickTime follow the steps below.
A student used the Digital Fluency question link to ask us ‘How do I indent text in word?’
There are a number of ways do to this, but to Indent Paragraph Lines Precisely:
Lynda.com, accessible through Moodle (log on and look at the blue right hand side menu) has lots of tutorials covering all aspects of digital technology.

A student used the questionnaire to ask us ‘how to create captivating reports using visual tools?’
The great news is that all students and staff can access Lynda.com, a huge resource of video tutorials free for UAL people! Log into Moodle and see the link:
