How do I add and remove people from groups that have been created in Outlook?

You can add a member to a group but you need to be the owner of the group to remove people from the group.

Adding a new member to the group:

  1. Go to the Group
  2. Click Add members
  3. Look up colleagues or students you want to add to the group
  4. Click Save when you’re done

Removing a member from a group (you need to be the group owner to remove a member):

  1. Go to the Group
  2. Hover over the name of the member you want to remove from the group
  3. Click on the “three dots” next to the name and you will see option to “Make owner” or “Remove from group”
  4. Click Remove from group


NOTE: Instructions above are for Office365 Outlook (web). This may defer if you are using different versions of Outlook.

How do I distinguish using office365 in UAL and another job at another college?

You can change the theme to Office365 to help you distinguish which Office365 in which college you’re logged on to.

See instructions below to change the theme:

  1. Login to Office365
  2. Click on Settings (on top right menu bar)
  3. Click on Theme
  4. You can choose one of the many themes available

NOTE: This is working on the presumption that Office365 is being used in two different Universities.

How to Crop an Image (for PC)

Using Paint

  1. Open your image in Paint
  2. Click on Select tool
  3. Select “Rectangle Section”
  4. Select the area on the image you want to crop
  5. Click Crop tool
  6. Click ctrl + S to save your image

 

Using Photoshop

  1. Open your image in Photoshop
  2. Click on the Crop tool
  3. Select the area you want to crop
  4. Click on the Move tool
  5. When prompted by pop-up box, click Crop to confirm cropping of image
  6. Click ctrl + S to save your image

Using Preview

  1. Double click and open your image in Preview (it should automatically open in Preview)
  2. Click on the Selection tool icon
  3. Select the area on the image you want to crop
  4. Click the Crop button
  5. Click File > Save to save your image

  2. Click on the Crop tool
  3. Select the area you want to crop
  4. Click on the Move tool

How to Resize an Image (on Web)

  1. Go to picresize.com
  2. Select Picture from Computer and click Continue
  3. Scroll to Section 2 to Resize Your Picture
  4. Under Save As: choose which format you want your picture to be saved (recommended PNG or JPG)
  5. Click ‘I’m done Resize my picture’
  6. Choose whether to: View image, Resume edit, Save to web or Save to disk (recommended)

Using Paint tool

  1. Open your image in Paint Tool (usually found under Accessories folder in Start menu)
  2. Click on “Resize” option on main menu bar
  3. You can adjust the image by using percentage or pixel
  4. Click ctrl + S to save your image

 

Using Photoshop

  1. Open Photoshop 
  2. Click File > Open to open your image in Photoshop
  3. Click Image > Image Size…
  4. Adjust Width and Height to resize your image
  5. Click OK
  6. Click ctrl + S to save your image

Using Snipping Tool (for PC)

Do you know that there’s a tool available on most UAL Windows computer for grabbing screenshot? Search for Snipping Tool in your menu task bar.

  1. Open Snipping Tool (you should be able to find it under Accessories folder or search for it under Start menu)
  2. Click New
  3. Select Free-From Snip or Rectangle Snip to capture the screen you want
  4. Click Save icon to save your screenshot
